Out of the zone
Top: JCPenney
Pants: JCPenney
Heels: Nine West
One outfit. Three items. Zero Target. Can you believe it?
So when's the last time I tucked in my shirt to a pair of pants? Um, probably third grade. We all know I can tuck a shirt into a skirt like no one's business but when it comes to pants I am totally hopeless. Skirts are different somehow--I guess because they tend to flare out at the hip, or the waistband is more obvious, or...it doesn't look quite that stupid on me?
But today I made the effort with my tried and true sailor pants and I actually didn't hate the look. I did feel self-conscious about it though; I'm not sure why but I'd guess it has something to do with the fact that my stomach isn't "hidden" like it would be with my shirt untucked. And this is something I definitely couldn't do with most tops, but I think the rushing on this top makes the tucking okay.
Basically, not making this a habit. But I guess stepping outside my comfort zone once in a while isn't completely terrible!

The outfit looks fab! The pants are great!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean by tucking in a shirt. When I tuck - I go back and forth all day. It's in it's out. My shirt ends up wrinkly and I end up frustrated. :)
The last pic looks like you are going to tap dance away. :)
i hear you on the tucking in thing...i think you pulled it off well with these pants though..in fact my first thought was you look HOT in the flare pants! welcome back from your trip, sounds like it was so fun to be around all those literary objects and things:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Elle! I've found that if I tuck before I get to work the shirt is way more likely to stay in because I feel awkward fussing with my clothes at my desk.
ReplyDeleteAleisha thank you! I really love this pair of pants. & yes, I had a fantastic time :) Though I'm still travel hungover!
